Early Learning Section
for ages 2½ - 5
The English-speaking students follow the English National Curriculum, and the French-speaking students, the French National programme, both adapted to serve the needs of an international community. All children spend an equal amount of time in both languages.
To give the children an early start in self-expression by developing listening and speaking skills.
To provide them with a stimulating environment created by an experienced staff, in which contact with other children and play with appropriate materials is of major importance.
To develop their self-confidence, self respect and respect for others, encourage their curiosity, and learn to act on their own initiative.
To make the first steps in a second language accessible, so moving towards bilingualism and an interest in, and respect for, other languages and cultures.
FOR CHILDREN 2½ : A full morning - half in French and half in English with co-ordinated bilingual activities. Each term follows a number of themes related to the interests of the children
and the school project.
FROM THE AGE OF 3 : Four full days with lunch included as a social activity. In this group, the children begin their pre-reading, writing and number activities.
There is continuous assessment on personal development and curriculum targets
throughout the school year. A progress report is given each term.
ARRANGEMENTS
2½ yrs - Four mornings per week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday : 9h - 12h
From the age of 3 yrs. - Four full days (as above) including lunch : 9h - 16h
