Parents

There is no doubt that Bordeaux would have been out of the question for us if there had not been an international school with English instruction. What we found was a little jewel of a school where children benefit from intimate peer interaction in small classes, attentive teachers who practise multimodal forms of teaching to cater to different learning needs, and a nurturing and flexible bilingual learning environment adapted to each child. The vibrant parent community also allows for the school not only to be a supportive space for children but also for their families, many of whom are new to Bordeaux.- Sylvie Wald (Canada) - Early Learning Parent and ex PTA President

At BIS, all parents are invited to participate in the learning process and are seen as real co-players in their child's education.

Parents play a key role in guiding their children's learning on a daily basis, by teaching them not only to communicate and acquire knowledge and independence, but also the values of mutual respect.

We invite parents to take part in the life of the school on regular occasions throughout the year, such as events celebrating cultural diversity and fundraising for charity or school projects. The PTA is the most obvious example of this.

Parents Teachers Association

The PTA (Parents and Teachers Association) brings together parents, teachers and management. Its mission is to foster community spirit and work together to provide the best possible educational environment. As well as fundraising and organising regular  events such as the International Buffet, Sports Day and Bake Sales,  the PTA is also actively involved in the school's re-accreditation process.

Parent class representatives, one Anglophone and one Francophone, act as a link between parents and teachers.
